Company's warning to Reliance Jio users, never make this mistake
New Delhi : Mukesh Ambani-led telecom company Reliance Jio has issued an important alert for its consumers. The alert is very important for Jio users, because it can prove to be helpful in protecting them from cyber frauds. Some tips have also been given by the company to avoid e-KYC scam. Earlier, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone have also warned their customers to avoid cyber frauds.
The company has warned its consumers about the increasing cyber frauds, in which it has said that the safety of customers is always very important for the company. Jio has said that, "We have recently noticed some cases related to cyber frauds, in which fraudsters posing as the representative of Jio and they asks for link to your Aadhaar, Bank Accounts, OTP etc." Company said, that, do not respond to any incoming call or message in the name of e-KYC verification.
In this, fraudsters ask users to call a number in the name of KYC verification. Users need to be careful with such fraud calls. Do not download any app on your phone or PC to update KYC. Due to access of users' devices can reach to scammers and they can suffer financial loss.
Reliance Jio has told about the working of the fraudsters, 'Generally a call back number is given to the customers to share the details. When the customer calls the given number, he is asked to install a third-party app. Through the app, fraudsters access to customer's bank accounts linked to phones and devices. According to Jio, it never asks customers to download third-party applications, as all the necessary information for customers resides in the MyJio app.
