AICTE Chairman visits Bhartiya Skill Development University Jaipur

Jaipur : Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), Jaipur was visited by Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, and All India Council for Technical Education. Founded by Dr. Rajendra Joshi, BSDU works on a unique concept of building dual system of skills education (Swiss Dual System) where major focus remains on practical industrial training along with some theory. The objective of bringing in the dual system of education is to impart more practical training to make students ‘job ready’ unlike the conventional education system where the emphasis is on classroom teaching.

Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman AICTE was briefed by the Vice Chancellor and conducted around infrastructure of the University including the world class workshops and laboratories established by the Universities in different skills faculties. The AICTE Chairman, at the end of the visit said, “BSDU is a unique university with excellent facilities to produce excellent skilled Manpower”.

Bhartiya Skill Development University is doing an excellent job of getting the students trained for customized work processes in Industries. A worker working in industry should have deep knowledge of the machines and the processes, this is only possible with this system of apprenticeship education.Furthermore, this is the future for Indian education system and I believe that every engineering college should inculcate this system of quality education in their curriculum. This is the only way of creating competent workforce for the Make in India initiative.”


Dr. (Brig.) SS Pabla, President of BSDU says, “Institutions that are imparting technical education should focus on ways of improving quality of education which would make students more competent in their skills.  BSDU is a model skill university for other universities in India. Every state should have universities like BSDU where students can use facilities for having real time experience of working on machines alternating with practical situations of Industry.

Founded by Dr. RK Joshi, BSDU’s Swiss Dual system is a boon for Skill Development as itemphasizes on offering a curriculum that is flexible and not stringent like the way in the conventional education system. BSDU is a unique skill development university in India with a vision to create global excellence in skill development sector by creating opportunities, space and scope for the development of talents of Indian youth and by making them globally fit.

BSDU offers skills programs from certificate to diploma to B.Voc. It also offers M.Voc and Ph.D indifferent skill areas. It is a pure skills university and has only skills faculties.”
