'Uh-la-la...' girl Vidya Balan think she was a Bengali in her last birth
Mumbai : The bollywood's 'Uh-la-la...' girl gorgeous actress Vidya Balan, who has established a career in Bollywood, and has portrayed a Bengali character in films like 'Parineeta', 'Kahaani' and 'TE3N', feels she had her roots in Bengal in her previous life. Vidya is currently shooting for 'Begum Jaan' in Patjor on the West Bengal-Jharkhand border.
The 38-year-old actrss said in a statement that she think she was a Bengali in her last birth. The actress, who hails from Kerala and was also honoured with the Pride of Kerala Award, made her film debut in a Bengali film 'Bhalo Theko'. Her big Bollywood debut was 'Parineeta', which was shot entirely in Kolkata.
Vidya Balan says that, she feels a sense of familiarity with the state. “It is strange considering my family has no roots there,” she added.
The 37-year-old actress has won the National Film Award for Best Actress for 'The Dirty Picture' in 2012. She was also awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2014.
