Bullet Baba : The height of belief named 'Om Banna'

A village located on the Jodhpur highway in Pali district of Rajasthan which calls as Chotila, have a specialty in itself and known for its unique feature. The is the single place in the whole world where people worship a motorcycle and its deity is known by the name of 'Bullet Baba' or 'Om Banna'

Yes you heard perfectly! the people who worship here a motorcycle which is a bullet bike and its deity is known by the name of Baba bullet. Other than this, motorcycle worships by the mantras same like as the God.

Actually, there had been an incident here before so many years, in which a villager named Om Singh Rathore was died in road accidet, who was going somewhere on his bullet motorcycle. After the incident, many paranormal events started here and worship of Om Singh has began confessing as deity named Om Banna causing.

Om Banna (formerly Om Singh Rathore) was born in a village called Chotila in Pali district of Rajasthan. One night, on 2 December, 1988, Om Banna was returning from the town known as Bangadi to his village Chotila on his Bullet motorcycle when suddenly an aura (a divine light) appeared in front of him and  he lost control of his motorcycle. Om Banna was killed instantly, his motorcycle falling into a nearby ditch. 

After the accident, local police took the motorcycle to the nearby Rohar police station. Call it a miracle or supernatural phenomenon, that motorcycle disappeared from the police station in the night and was found back at the site of accident on the next day. Police took the motorcycle to the police station again, this time putting it in a room under a strong lock while the inspector in charge of that police station kept the key with him.

Despite their efforts, the next morning it again disappeared and was found at the site of accident. Police also tethered it with chains some times but it was always found at the accident site. The motorcycle was also reported going towards the highway without a driver by many eye-witnesses. 

Finally, police department decided to put the motorcycle at the site of accident regarding the feelings and appeals of  the local population and Om Banna’s father, Thakur Jog Singh. After some time, Om Banna’s grandmother, Mrs. Samandar Kanwar saw Om Banna in her dream asking to give him a space where his accident took place by making a terrace in his name so a terrace was made there and his motorcycle was also put there according to his wish. 

News of this miracle motorcycle gradually spread to the nearby villages and cities, and many people started to come there to worship this motorcycle. The legend says that the engine of the motorcycle starts for some time on the date and time of Om Banna’s accident. Later, people decided to put the garlands on the headlight and lighting ‘Dhoop-Batti’ on the ground near the tyres of motorcycle.

Nobody has ever moved or replaced the motorcycle from its place, however, the motorcycle is cleaned regularly and redecorated every year. Every year, on the night of accident, a lauding in the praise of Om Banna is organized where people are said to feel the presence of Om Banna.

The legend states that many accidents used to take place on the Rohar highway but later on, Om Banna was seen many times saving these accidents so the faith in Om banna kept increasing in people’s hearts and they started to worship him as a deity. The site of accident gradually got the status of a temple which is still continuous.

Not only the people from ‘Maarvaar’ but many people from other places also come here to worship and get the blessings of Om Banna, especially the people passing by the Jodhpur highway mostly come here. This place now has a distinct identity and is always filled with a big crowd of worshippers and followers of Om Banna. This once anon milestone now has its own recognizance on this highway as the shrine of Om Banna.
