Ganga Ram Aloria appointed new chief secretary of Gujarat

Gandhinagar : An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1981 batch from Gujarat cadre Ganga Ram Aloria was appointed as chief secretary by Gujarat government on Saturday. He is the state's 27th chief secretary and will retire on July 31, 2016. Aloria replacing D J Pandian, who retired on Saturday.

Aloria who is from Jaipur in Rajasthan started his career as IAS officer as Superintendent Assistant Collector, Rajkot. He later served as DDO, Collector, Deputy Secretary, Senior General Manager, Municipal Commissioner, Housing Commissioner, OFS, Commissioner of Transport, GSRTC Vice Chairman and MD, Joint MD of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited, Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Urban Housing and Additional Chief Secretary of Home department.

The new chief secretary Aloria said, "My second priority will be to boost the state's GSDP and push the Make in India campaign through growth in the state's manufacturing sector," he further added "I am thankful to the PM and the chief minister for putting their trust in me."
