Fire breaks out at Delhi Health Minister's office

New Delhi : A minor fire breaks out on Tuesday afternoon at Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain's office in Delhi Secretariat . The incident happened during the hours before the session began. There were no casualties, an official said.

Four fire engines were to the spot to douse the flames by the Fire department. The fire department official said the fire broke out in an air-conditioner in the office. The minister was not in his office when the incident was reported.

According to them, the control room had received a call around 12.45pm from the security personnel posted at the assembly. "We reached withing two minutes after receiving the call and brought the flames under control," said a fire officer. A few documents kept at the office have been damaged in the fire.

A team from the Civil Lines police station nearby also rushed to the scene. A probe has been initiated to establish the cause of fire. The electrical circuit system is also being checked.
